So you’ve set the date, the flowers are ordered and the job of meticulously planning your reception’s seating plan is behind you… now it’s time to sayonara to single life before you embark on your next fabulous adventure!
We’ve gathered together 5 of our favorite bachelorette locations where you and your best group of girlfriends can party, relax and celebrate in style!
For the girls that want to party hard – Vegas
Obviously this is top of the list. Home of the parties, the glam teams and the downright crazy; Vegas is sure to provide the best send off to single life. By day, hit up one of the city’s spas (many of which offer private lounges for large parties), pay a visit to Seven Magic Mountains (for an impromptu Instagram photoshoot), top up your tan by the pool, or catch-up on sleep. By night, the city is your playground. It goes without saying that you’re never short of a party, or a roulette wheel, in Vegas and one of our top recommendations? You’re in no better town for an exceptional and OTT show (Hello, Magic Mike Live!).
For the ones who want to channel their inner Carrie Bradshaw – New York
Stuck for the ultimate Bachelorette location? Then look no further than the City That Never Sleeps where literally everything is at your fingertips. Korean karaoke? Got it. Beyonce-themed dance classes? Sorted. Custom-lipstick labs? Got that too. Plus all of the shopping you could ever desire. If you’re after something a little more low-key (and bank balance friendly) then The High Line (a park built on an old elevated train line over the Hudson River) is a great way to get out and see the city, or pack a picnic and have a lazy afternoon in Central Park. And drinks? If you’ve gone in summer make sure you head high to some of the city’s stunning, and plentiful, rooftop bars. Nothing goes better with a cosmopolitan than panoramic views of New York City.
For those who want a little slice of luxury – St Lucia
If you’re after a more laid-back, hassle-free getaway with your girlfriends, where better than one of St Lucia’s luxurious resorts? We’re thinking stunning beaches, mud baths, and margaritas; not to mention the opportunity to warm up (and get a little pre-wedding tan). Many of the resorts offer group packages, including spa treatments, sunset cruises and private cooking-classes so be sure you have a shop around. We’ll pack our bikini now.
For the artsy bachelorette – Portland, Oregon
After more of an artsy vibe? Portland, Oregon makes the perfect bachelorette backdrop. With quirky shops on every corner, food-trucks for every taste and microbreweries by the barrel load, there’s no shortage of things to do (did we mention shopping is tax-free!?). Beyond the hipster hangouts are an abundance of natural beauties should you and your Besties want to grab a little fresh air: The Willamette River runs right through downtown (perfect for hanging out on a hot summer day), or channel your inner Reese Wetherspoon and hike a little of the Pacific Coast Trail à la Wild. Back in the city, there’s no better pre-wedding shenanigans than a visit to the famous Darcelle XV where the grand dame herself (the nation’s oldest performing female impersonator) hosts an evening full of glitz, glamour and feather head-dresses.
For the adventure seekers – Banff, Alberta, Canada
For those less cabaret, more camping; then Banff, Alberta needs to be top of the list. With National Parks brimming with jaw-dropping sights, enough action-packed activities to warrant a holiday post-holiday, and an impressive nightlife (après anyone?) it’s got everything needed to celebrate this monumental rite of passage.
For a little luxury, check into one Banff’s glamping lodges for the perfect night sleep (marshmallow toasting is mandatory) and in the day, your options for adventure are quite literally endless. For the adrenaline junkies try skiing, white-water rafting or horseback riding, and for those that like both feet on the ground, hot-foot your way to one of Banff’s stunning hot springs (pun intended)
