May all of your Easter bonnet efforts be rewarded in the splendor that is the NYC Easter Bonnet Parade.
This is a must on anyone’s bucket list, and is draped in glamour. grandeur, creativity, and a sprinkle of fashion. The Parade has been running for nearly 50 years, walking from the St. Patrick’s Cathedral on 5th Avenue. The initial idea started from the belief that to be seen in an old hat at Easter service, was simply not the done thing! Easter requires you to be your best dressed you. To Quote Romeo and Juliet’s Mercutio:
“Did’st thou not fall out with a Tailor for wearing his new Doublet before Easter?”
What other excuse do you need to start shopping now!!
Now in the 21st century NYC has catapulted the Parade to become so much more, including making an appearance in Judy Garland’s musical Easter Parade. (note to self, re-watch Easter Parade).
It has become something you can only believe if you see it with your own eyes. Think carrots as hats, grown men wearing matching outfits and outfits solely made out of plastic chicks!
