Google Trends data shows that searches around gender equality are steadily rising. Google released this video to support International Women’s Day – we love it!
Remember when Barbies were all about unrealistic measurements? Thankfully those days are behind us and there are a new set of role models in town. This week Barbie announced a new range of dolls based on modern day and historic real life female role models. The new “Shero” dolls include NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, Aviator Amelia Earhart and Chloe Kim, teenage Olympic gold medal winning snowboarder. We’re not crying. You’re crying.
Such a simple idea and such a huge impact. Some people love it, some hate it, stating that McDonald’s needs to do more for its female employees than flipping its branding. But you can’t deny that it’s made a splash using its international brand status to help draw attention to International Women’s Day. Hopefully be one of many empowering steps for the brand.
Uber is celebrating its female drivers with its #DrivenWomen campaign, shining a spotlight on ladies in Asia Pacific countries who drive for a living as well as holding down families and other jobs.
