Nazira Sacasa Top 10 LA Spots

Hello, Nazira here with my second travel blog installment. This month I am exploring Los Angeles. The City of Angles has so many amazing and unique things to do so if you are planning a trip to LA soon here are my top 10 recommendations.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art

There are tons of great museums and attractions to check out. I personally loved visiting LACMA. They often have great special exhibits, so if you plan to visit, check their site to see if there is one you are interested in and buy tickets ahead if needed. Plus the Urban Light sculpture by Chris Burden makes a great background for an Instagram photo.

OUE SkySpace

If you are looking for city views and a fun adventure then you must visit OUE SkySpace, California’s tallest open-air observation deck. You get panoramic, 360-degree views of Los Angeles from nearly 1,000 feet above the city. OUE SkySpace also has the world’s first ever Skyslide which is amazing! You get to slide down from the 70th floor in a glass slide and take in the incredible city views.

Getty Villa

The Getty Villa is the place to go to get a mix of art, architecture, and gardens. I love the Villa’s four tranquil gardens which feature designs inspired by ancient Roman models and planted with species known from the ancient Mediterranean. The museum is dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. The Getty Villa is the perfect place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Plus admission is free.

Bottega Louie

I am always on the hunt for the best macarons when I travel and Bottega Louie in LA makes some delicious macarons. Bottega Louie macarons are prepared daily in small batches using only the finest ingredients. These delicate cookies are made with California almond flour and filled with all natural fresh fruit compotes, buttercreams & ganaches. Yum!

Goddess Wall

Exploring and walking around Downtown has been one of my favorite things to do. There are so many amazing restaurants, shops, coffee shops and wall murals like this Goddess Wall by WRDSMTH and Colette Miller.

 Matcha Box

Matcha has become one of my favorite things and my favorite place in LA is Matcha Box, LA’s first ever matcha tea bar. I love this place because the interior is super cute, their Matcha drinks are delicious and of course, the drinks are so pretty that you can’t help be snap an Instagram photo.

Runyon Canyon

The weather in LA is incredible all year so one of my favorite things to do is be outdoors. If you’re looking to spend some time outdoors, Runyon Canyon is the best. It’s located at the base of the Hollywood Hills and has a few different trail options. On a clear day, you can see the entire city, in every direction. It’s a pretty incredible view!

Animal Restaurant

We all deserve to indulge and treat ourselves once and a while and Animal is the place to do so. Animal offers a crazy-adventurous menu that adds unexpected twists to the cooking of the American South. The food is fantastic and they also have delicious desserts including one of the best tres leches I’ve ever tasted.

Micheltorena Stairway

This awesome painted stairway is visible as you drive past it on Sunset Blvd and has become a popular place background for Instagram photos. Head over to the stairway to find red hearts and pastel-colored steps by artist, Corinne Carrey.

 Descanso Gardens

Descanso Gardens is a unique Southern California landscape distinguished by its specialized botanic collections, historical significance, and rare natural beauty. It feels so peaceful to be surrounded by so many beautiful plants. Descanso Gardens is the perfect place to visit when you need a little serenity.
