How to Style Statement Pants for Day and Night

Statement pants with bold prints and bright colors are one of this summer’s biggest trends however it can be tricky to know how to style them for different occasions. We have picked three of our favourite statement pants and styled them for day and night; it turns out you can turn up for brunch with the girls in sequin pants.

The Statement Stripe

Stripes are always on trend and it doesn’t look like they will be disappearing from our closets anytime soon. Cropped pants are great for the summer and early fall, you can pair them with a cami and sandals during summer or ankle boots and a sweater once the weather starts to cool down.

Day: Office Chic

Pair these striped pants with a ruffled ivory jumper and a pair of pointed flats for a chic everyday look. This classic nautical inspired look can be worn to the office or lunch with the girls.

Night: Drinks with the Girls

A fitted top or body is perfect for dressing up your cropped pants. We love this black body with its cut out on the back, perfect for a date night or drinks with the girls. Add a pop of color with some heeled sandals; pick a pair of block heels if you are going to a club so you can dance all night.

The Wide Leg

Wide leg pants can be daunting, no one wants to end up looking like they have just come from circus. The on trend soft blush color of these pants stops them from becoming clown-like and makes them bang on trend, we haven’t had enough of millennial pink just yet.

Day: Trip to the mall

These wide leg pants are quite formal and would be great for the office with a white shirt and some loafer however you can easily wear these for a more casual occasion. Dress yours down with a simply tee and a pair of comfy pumps and you are ready for a trip to the mall. A denim bomber is a great casual jacket that will complement the blush pink.

Night: Date Night

A simple cami and a pair of heels are all you need for a chic date night outfit. Plus these loose fitting pants are much more comfortable than a fitted dress so you definitely have room for dessert. Feeling brave? Try a floral printed blouse or brightly colored cami for a real statement look.

The Bold Sequin

Sequin palazzo pants are definitely a little out there and aren’t for everyone but we love these statement makers. The black sequins makes them much easier to wear and style without looking like you have stepped out of an 80’s disco although a night dressed up in sequins dancing to boogie wonderland sounds amazing.

Day: Lunch with the girls

Unleash your inner cool girl by pairing these sequin pants with a simple white tee and sneakers for a sports luxe vibe; This dresses down the pants so you can wear them out for a relaxed daytime meal with friends. A quilted black backpack adds a cool edge and keeps the look casual.

I work in the ecommerce team for Simply Be’s sister brand, JD Williams. When I am not in the office I can usually be found at the cinema or at the local pub enjoying a drink or two. My favourite way to relax at home is a long bubble bath with a good book or binge watching a boxset.
