The Weirdest Beauty Trends of 2017

Bubble face masks? LEG CONTOURING? It’s official. Beauty has gone MAD. We’re only half way through the year and already there’s a huge list of crazy beauty trends. Here’s some of our favorites:

Beauty Blender BRAS!?

Everyone’s got a pair of silicone bra inserts tucked at the back of one of their drawers. Luckily for us, some people have come up with an ingenious way to make use of them! The silicone material is meant to help a smooth makeup application, and prevent product waste by cutting back on absorption that usually occurs with normal makeup sponges. Beauty bloggers everywhere are swearing by the trend. What do you think? Will you be digging around your bedroom to try this trend?

Bubble Face Mask

Bubble face masks (or oxygen masks if we’re referring to them by their proper name) are a Korean beauty trend that everyone is lusting over. The masks are either a normal sheet mask that you apply from a packet, or a normal liquid mask that you apply from a tub. Once the masks hit oxygen, they bubble, and bubble.. and bubble..  After 10 minutes you’re supposed to massage the bubbles into your skin and rinse off, and you’ll see the benefits with bright and refreshed skin. Check out the bubbles in action:

Collagen Lip Patches

Covered in serums that contain collagens, vitamins and rich moisturising serums, these lip patches are intended to inject moisture back into your dry lips and give them a little plump. Apply before doing your makeup for the perfect pout!

Jam what?! .. Apparently, the key to longlasting, smooth matte skin has been found, and it comes in the form of talcum powder and water. Want a cheap and easy alternative to all these fancy setting sprays and powders? Enter Jamsu. Jamsu is the art of coating your freshly made up face in baby powder, submerging in a bowl of cold water for 15 – 30 seconds, and gently dabbing off. The powder and water supposedly work together to lock in your make-up, meaning it’s fade and melt proof, supposedly with a matte, oil free finish. Sceptical? Check it out in action here by beauty vlogger Beauty Vixxen.

Can you see yourself using your old bra to apply your makeup and finishing the look off by covering your face in talcum powder then dunking your head in water? We’re not sure we can either..

Let us know your favorite one of these trends in the comments, and we’re dying to hear if you know of any weirder trends!
